Harrington, Foxx, Dubrow & Canter, LLP, has been integrally
involved in the evolution of products liability law in California since Greenman v.
Yuba Power Products, Inc., the seminal case recognizing this tort. We have tried
countless products cases over the years. We have also participated in the appeals
that have helped shape California products liability law.
Through our representation of a wide variety of product
manufacturers we have established an effective network of experts in various
fields, including engineering, accident reconstruction, biomechanics, chemistry,
warning design, health care, and damages analysis. We have defended numerous
catastrophic injury cases and consulted with major product manufacturers on
strategies for limiting potential liability. Our practice has also included defending
distributors and retailers alleged to be in the chain of distribution. We have acted
as national counsel for product manufacturers by managing and litigating cases
across the United States.
We publish an in-house primer on products liability which is updated
yearly and distributed to our clients to keep them advised on the current status of
California products liability law. Members of the firm have published books and
articles on products liability, most recently an authoritative guide entitled
MANAGING PRODUCT LIABILITY RISKS: A Comprehensive Guide to
